Visiting the high mountains for the first time can be a little daunting:
new sites, new flying conditions, different winds, thermals, how to find
the best areas and how to get between launch and landing!
This inexpensive service for newly qualified paragliding or hang gliding
pilots
is a real 'helping hand'. We'll introduce
you to this new environment, take you to the best sites for the day (see
the Sites Guide),
make sure you are flying in the safest spots,
show you where the best thermals are
and help you with them if you are struggling.

'Introduction to the Alps' is not a fully blown thermalling course, as
our Thermalling
Master Class course, but as much a real introduction with
'hands-on' thermalling help via radio! If
necessary we'll help you with
alpine front and reverse launch techniques, and introduce you
into different landing approaches altering them for the continuously
changing flying conditions.
Why not enrol on an 'Introduction to the Alps'
week or maybe just a few days
or a weekend with Dennis and Gillian and
learn more about this exciting environment!!
Many pilots enrol just for a few days then spend the rest of their
holiday with us Fly
Guiding.
Introduction to the Alps' courses are available throughout the year and
the cost for the training is 100 Euros
a day.
(per person in a small group) However, booking on
a 'Direct Instruction' basis for one or two persons at 250 Euros a day
is a good alternative!
